This is another one of the pictures that I posted at facebook several years ago, but I hadn't posted it to my website until now. I remember drawing it. I was sitting at an outdoor Starbucks in Garden City ~ warming up for a job where I agreed to draw the whole Party Scene.
I didn't like this picture at the time. I felt like the bottom-center of the page was taking over the whole scene. So I started a different picture instead. Still, I brought this one home, and added the brighter blue with the ipade to the scene that had only been colored only with color-sticks. Then I liked the picture just fine. Might have done more with it if I had kept drawing on-site. Or maybe not. I was glad that I had gotten the faux-pax out of my system before I drew at the Event.
Oooh, I just noticed a poetry. Drawing on-site means drawing on-sight.

Still practicing the Dark Humor because of Client's Request. I used a reference photo of a man that I previously drew just fine at a Party.
In the first picture here, I wasn't successful in coming up with Dark Humor. He looks just so cute. So I tried it again.
In the 2nd picture here, I was successful in coming up with Dark Humor. I wonder if it will feel easier to get into that Zone at the Event where the Client requested Dark Humor. And if so, would I even Want to be there? Maybe I'm going to turn down this party afterall. But meanwhile, it sure is an interesting drawing experience alone in my studio.
Not only would I prefer Drawing the first picture, but I also don't understand what sort of benefit there would be for a person to have a picture on which Dark Humor is imposed. When the Client calls me back, I'm going to ask her about that.

This is the sort of stuff that I'm most likely to Upcycle. When stuff doesn't fit right, I do something to Fix it ~ which usually makes it a favorite special item. This blue sweater was too short. So I crocheted at the bottom. Used the smallest crochet hook I could find ~ since I felt surprised by how tiny the stitches on my purchased Sweater were. Still, it flared out when I did the crocheting. Happy accident. It looks just 'kicky'!
